Terms of use
Version 0.1 of Nov 2, 2026. Written in plain language by the operator; a lawyer-reviewed version will replace this one before the public beta. If anything here contradicts applicable law, the law prevails.
StrategyCheck is software that runs the strategy you write, in paper, and measures whether it works. It does not tell you what to buy or sell, it does not handle your money, and the beta is free and paper only. By using the site or, later, an account, you accept these terms.
1. Who operates the service
StrategyCheck is operated by Tulkas LLC, a Delaware (USA) company. In these terms, "we" is Tulkas LLC and "you" is whoever uses the site or the service. Contact: [email protected].
2. What the service is
Software that runs, in paper and with real market prices, a rule or a Python script that you write or choose; applies risk limits that you set; records every decision; and computes metrics with their number of trades and their PAPER, BACKTEST or REAL label. How each number is computed is in the methodology.
3. What it is not
- It is not investment advice. We are not an investment adviser or a broker-dealer, and we are not registered as either.
- We make no recommendations. We do not give signals, analysis or suggestions about what to buy or sell, and we do not rank strategies by expected return. The strategy is yours or you choose it.
- We have no custody. We do not hold or move your money and we cannot withdraw it. Your money is at your broker.
- We have no discretion. We run rules that you set; we do not decide for you.
- We are not affiliated with any broker. Alpaca, Interactive Brokers and any other names that appear belong to their owners.
Paper and backtest results are hypothetical: they do not guarantee real results. Trading involves risk of loss, including all of what you invest. A strategy meeting the methodology's "gate" does not assure future gains.
4. Current status: paper-only beta
- The private beta is planned for February 28, 2027. Today there is only a waiting list; there are no public accounts.
- The beta is free and paper only: trading real money does not exist.
- It may change or close at any time. If we close it, we email those who have an account and, if you ask, we delete your data.
- The dates on this page are plans, not promises.
5. Your responsibilities
- The strategies are yours: you write or choose them, and you answer for what they do and for the parameters and limits you set.
- Your broker account is yours: you must be its holder and comply with your broker's terms (for example, Alpaca's) and with the rules that apply to you where you live.
- You give truthful information, protect access to your account and tell us if you suspect unauthorized use.
- You do not use the service to attack it, overload it, extract other users' data, evade the risk limits or run malicious code.
- You are at least 18 years old.
6. Your code and your data
Your strategies and your code remain yours. You give us the limited permission needed to run them, store them and show them to you inside the service. We do not share them with other users or train models on them. How we protect them is in Security; what data we store and for how long is in Privacy.
7. Pricing
Today nothing is charged and no plan can be bought. The prices published on the site are an intention. When payments exist, a third party will process them (currently planned: Paddle), and these terms will be updated before anything is charged.
8. Availability and limit of liability
The service is offered "as is", with no guarantee that it will run without interruptions or errors. Market data may have delays, outages or errors, and the paper simulation models costs that may differ from real ones.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for trading losses or indirect damages, and our total liability to you does not exceed the greater of what you have paid us in the previous 12 months and 100 US dollars. This does not limit rights that the law of your country does not allow to be limited.
9. Closing your account
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts the service or other users at risk.
10. Countries
We may limit or deny access from certain countries if local law requires it or if we cannot offer the service there with legal certainty.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. If you are a consumer and the law of your country gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights remain.
12. Changes
This is version 0.1. A lawyer-reviewed version will replace it before the public beta. If they change in a material way, we email those who have an account and update the date above.
